MD Sumon Miah

Ph.D. Student

SHORT BIO

MD Sumon Miah is a graduate student at Texas Tech University's Department of Chemical Engineering. Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET) awarded him a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. After that, he was employed as a DCS Engineer at Meghna PVC Limited. This industry has used a variety of electrochemical techniques to generate VCM and PVC from ethylene as a raw source. Throughout his tenure, he kept an eye on and managed several aspects to guarantee the product's quality and maintain a smooth operation. His interest in working in the field of electrochemical engineering was piqued by this practical experience. In spring 2024, he started working at CETI Lab. He is currently conducting research to create a coal electrolysis technique that will enable raw bituminous coal to be converted into carbon nanomaterials. He also has an interest in wastewater treatment, Nitrate reduction, and Ammonia Electrolysis.
