SHORT BIO
Sergio holds two bachelor’s degrees: one in Chemical Engineering from Universidad de Carabobo, Venezuela, and another in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad José Antonio Paez, Venezuela. For his undergraduate thesis in Chemical Engineering, he focused on the biotechnological production of L-Lactic Acid from agricultural biomass. Driven by a lifelong passion for research, science, and technology, Sergio is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at Texas Tech University. He joined the CETI lab in Spring 2025 with the aim of contributing to the development of more sustainable technologies. His ultimate goal is to become a world-leading researcher in electrochemical engineering.
